Rooms

Creating your rooms is very easy. Simple open to editor, select the object to place, and then click where you want it. Rooms can be customized quite extensively, so it's worth looking through all the options and settings at some time.


Click the "Create a room" button.

Click the "Settings" tab and name the room rm_game.

Return to the "Objects" tab, and select obj_player as the object to be placed.

Remember, the object has been coded to move right at speed 4 on creation, so you'll want it to start on the left side of the room.

Place an instance of the object in the room.

Save the game!

Run the game!

If everything worked properly, you should see the blue ball go right until it is off screen!

This tutorial has demonstrated the basics of using Game Maker. The final product is hardly a game, but with your new understanding of Game Maker you can now explore the rest of its functionality!
